“I am a Chiropractic Physician in private practice over the past 45 years. I have immersed myself in many innovative, leading-edge healing modalities throughout those four decades. Along that ever-fascinating journey into body-mind transformation I have had the opportunity to meet, and utilize the talents of dozens of highly-skilled practitioners utilizing various natural healing approaches. Sophie Tabak is one of those rare and special ones who has integrated a number of different methods that when combined with her innate refined perception and intuition leads to very effective and often dramatic positive outcomes. I enthusiastically recommend her services to my patients and friends.”

- Dr. Fred Kingsbury

“Sophie is the most ambitious, self-motivated therapist with tremendous work ethic. Sophie has continuously challenged herself to discover ways to care for others making her an incredible hands on provider. This is apparent and results in numerous patient raves and testimonials. I have been in practice 19 years and can say with absolute certainty that she is the most talented and best therapist I have known.”

- Dr. David Fischer

“Sophie is a master at her craft. She has worked on patients, young and old and with various diagnoses. She utilizes her skills in Z-Health, nerve glides, bodywork techniques, Pilates and vestibular techniques to improve patient’s function. She is an asset to anyones health care regimen.”

- Mary Ann Connolly, PT

“Sophie is an extraordinarily competent professional. Her knowledge of neurology surpasses that of many clinicians I have ever encountered. When I developed persistent vertigo, I had vestibular rehabilitation, however it fell short. Sophie was better able to pinpoint the issue and develop exercises that helped all of the neurological functions of balance as well as hearing. She really understands how things work and how to train the brain to function better and overcome disturbances. After 2 months of feeling dizzy, off balance, the room spinning and a hangover headache from the vertigo, in just a few weeks I was normal again. The brain can be changed, and she can help you change it for the better. Sophie is pleasant, compassionate and easy to work with. If you have a neurological issue, don’t hesitate. She is gifted and can help you. I highly recommend working with Sophie.”

“Sophie is knowledgeable, skilled, and gives amazing treatment. She has helped me through my chronic shoulder and back pain. She incorporates her knowledge of nerve pain, body posture and analysis in her treatments. Thank you for really changing my life!”

- Izzie David, PTA

“Sophie introduced me to Pilates 2 years ago and I took weekly private sessions with her for a year and a half, only stopping when I decided to follow in her footsteps and become a Pilates Instructor myself. Sophie inspired me to become an instructor and her confidence in me and that I could also teach Pilates meant the world to me and gave me the confidence to go for it.

When we first started, I was struggling to find a workout routine that was right for me. Sophie helped me to fall in love with Pilates, increase my strength, flexibility and confidence. I always felt Sophie worked to personalize our sessions for me and my abilities, while challenging me to do more than I thought I could in each session. Sophie is extremely knowledgeable about anatomy and brain science and had an answer and an exercise for every ache, pain or challenge I ran into. She also made sure my form was correct and that I was doing every move safely and to maximize the intended result.”

- Sara L.

“Sophie has been helping me feel good for years. Her work is so beneficial and helped turn back the clock on my golf game! I am grateful that she helps keep me in shape to do the things I love.”

- Brian Dobbie, PGA

“I only have one thing to say about Sophie - She is the best practitioner that I have ever been to. What makes her the best? Two things - her intuitiveness/listening to your body and her education/training. She is an amazing healer.

I’ll focus on just a few things: my knee, my shoulder and my headache. I took a break from exercising some of my adulthood. When I got back into it, I was out of shape and had poor mechanics. I remembered how much I loved it, how good it made me feel such that I overdid it and the result - injuries.

My knees have always been troubled since I was little - Osgood Schlatter’s Disease. When I started doing more with weight resistance, my knees felt it. They were stiff and sore. Sophie showed me some simple and very different stretches. It was amazing how quickly my knees recovered.

I was having a constant headache - not bad, just virtually continuous in a line across the top right side of my head. She had me sit in a chair, move my eyes in certain ways, had me smell something (I couldn’t smell it) and did something with my ear. After a few repeats of this, I smelled the ammonia and my headache dissipated. I did the eye movements for a few more days without her. The headache has never come back. That was 2 years ago.

I saved the best for last - my shoulder. I tore four of the rotator cuff muscles. I could not hold a glass of water without pain. I did physical therapy, had platelet enriched plasma (PRP) injections directly into the tears, more physical therapy. I was 75% better. I had another round of PRP as not all of my tears healed completely followed by more PT. I was about 98% better. I could not get my arm overhead without pain. After one quick (15 minute) session with Sophie and her magic, I was better and have remained so since. I am swimming over a mile in 40 minutes without any pain.

She knows how the body - the bones, muscles and nerves all interact to create movement. She uses this knowledge to reset the muscles and nerves. It is the most wonderful thing. I am so grateful to have met her and have been touched by her magical healing hands. To me it is magic, the improvement happens immediately with seemingly little effort and certainly no pain.”

“Sophie is a pleasure to work with. Her constant attention is always in the client’s best interest. Sophie goes above normal expectations of a practitioner by addressing exactly what ails you that visit. If she doesn't know what is causing your exact problem she researches it so she has the answer by your next visit. Before I started working with Sophie, I would often get dizzy, I had chronic neck and back pain, and pain in my hands. Through the exercises she had me do, my dizziness went away, my hands no longer hurt, and my neck and back pain have improved.”

- Scott M.

“When I first went to Sophie, I could barely stand or sit without discomfort due to lower back issues. During my first visit with Sophie, she took the time to listen and understand what the issues were. She utilized specifically targeted exercises and hands-on techniques to help while avoiding further aggravation. After a few sessions, my tightness and pain had gone away. Sophie has expert knowledge of anatomy and I highly recommend her!”

- Pedro F.

“When I first came to Sophie I was in pain. She helped alleviate my discomfort through hands-on techniques and specific exercises so that I could function again. She has a true gift and I am blessed to be able to work with her.”

- Namratha P.

“I have been struggling with a health issue for several years and haven't been particularly successful with improving my physical abilities. I started working with Sophie because of her professionalism and knowledge. We started slowly, and as a result, I built up my stamina and greatly improved my strength. Our sessions were challenging but also very appropriate for my fitness level. I was incredibly impressed with her attention to detail and emphasized using the proper form of breathing while performing the various exercises. She also stressed the importance of working on my balance and included different neuro-cognitive training to help me attain faster results. I have seen such a significant improvement and feel much healthier and happier due to our work together. I would highly recommend anyone who wants to better their quality of life to work with Sophie for an improved fitness level. It's also important to note that not only is she encouraging, but she has a good sense of humor and is kind.”

"I wasn’t sure what to expect when I took my first ever Pilates class. I had 2 goals, strengthen my core, and stretch my muscles out. I booked a private lesson with Sophie, and I told her I wanted to push myself and work hard. Well, she worked me hard, each class she went a little further. She always took time to determine which exercises were good for me and she constantly measured my progress while making sure nothing I was doing hurt me (injury wise). Each class she introduced new exercises while incorporating the main exercises that were benefiting me the most. In addition, she made the workouts fun. After a couple of weeks, I began to notice I was able to move and bend so much better than before I started. My core was getting stronger every week. Sophie gave me homework to do and would follow up each class to see how I did. She would do an assessment on me prior to starting to see how far my progress was coming. Truthfully, I wasn’t expecting much from Pilates, but I was amazed how good it made me feel. I noticed I was getting stronger with weightlifting also – I believe it was because my core was getting stronger. Sophie got a feel very quickly what my body responded to the best and made me work hard. I would leave each workout exhausted but feeling great. I would highly recommend Sophie to anyone who wants to improve their strength and health through Pilates. She is extremely knowledgeable, pushes you to do your best, has a great personality and really cares that you do well."

“I have to admit I am not a lover of working out. But I do enjoy Pilates. Especially if I’m lucky enough to find an extraordinary instructor like Sophie. Not only is she well versed in Pilates but she has a background in therapeutic massage which has complements each session take.”

-jan c.

“Sophie is a highly skilled and excellent Pilates instructor. She is able to pinpoint almost immediately any areas of the body that need special attention, and is willing to try a number of different approaches in order to find the most effective way to address them. What I particularly like best about Sophie's teaching style is her positive feedback and encouragement. She intuitively knows how to motivate her clients and to de-escalate any frustration that can sometimes come with learning something new. And best of all, she makes learning Pilates a fun endeavor!”

"To say that Sophie Tabak is an Amazing Pilates Instructor does not do her justice. Sophie’s knowledge of the Pilates program and the human body is remarkable, and her training sessions are extraordinary. I always get the personal attention from Sophie that I need to make each workout my own even in a group lesson. She knows all her student’s strengths and weaknesses and has the skill and knowledge to make adaptations to the different exercises to meet her clients’ personal needs during group classes. I walk out of the studio feeling tall, lean, toned, and energized. She makes sure that your body is positioned properly while you are doing a mat workout or using the machines. This gives your body the best possible work out. Sophie changes up the routines so boredom from doing redundant exercises is never a factor, but she is always working your core to the fullest. Sophie’s expertise as a Pilates instructor has met and exceeded my expectations. Sophie is always willing to accommodate people to meet their needs. Thank you, Sophie, for helping me to achieve my goals!"

“Sophie is not just any Pilates instructor; she is a natural when it comes to assessing the human body and helping you become the best you can be. I am 73 years old. All of my friends are suffering from many of the aches and pains associated with aging. As a result of my training with Sophie, I don’t feel my age. I have more energy, feel more coordinated and am actually stronger than I was a few years ago. She is very professional, extremely competent, caring and friendly. She has a passion for what she does and that translates into sessions that are challenging, interesting, fun and beneficial. I am lucky to have found her.”

"I love Sophie and her classes! A couple years ago I had two herniated discs and had been doing some rehab with the owner of Pilates by Design where Sophie was working. I realized I loved Pilates and after I healed I was looking to take mat and tower classes to supplement my weekly private class. Sophie was recommended to me and after my first class I knew I was in good hands. I love her classes because I get a great workout for my body but also for my balance and my brain. I do the nerve glides she taught me every day! I look forward to my weekly tower class in studio as well as my mat class on Zoom. Sophie is able to slip seamlessly into a Zoom class and I feel the workout is just about equal to being in person. I would highly recommend Sophie and I’m grateful to have such a caring and knowledgeable teacher!"

“It’s hard to find words to express gratitude to have had the chance to have met a Pilates instructor like Sophie Tabak. Unable to get to the studio and in midst of Covid, my Pilates session with Sophie not only gave me physical strength but also mental sanity. Her unique approach to Pilates has a combination of strength training, balance, visual communication and nerve functionality. Also, when she gets to know you have a specific issue she goes above and beyond to give you tips to make you feel better.”

- anita k.

“Sophie is really amazing at what she does. She is caring and knowledgeable and always makes class interesting. I am NEVER bored in her classes and always look forward to them. I trained as a physician and can honestly say that Sophie really knows her anatomy - muscles, nerves and function. She is obviously so much more than your "run of the mill" Pilates instructor. She has helped all of us in her classes by tweaking certain things, helping us to understand correct breathing, positioning, movement, etc. Sophie is a true gem and I am so glad that she will be continuing to teach our mat classes remotely so that I can still benefit from her wisdom and workouts. In conclusion, you would be lucky to have Sophie as your Pilates instructor - she is the best of the best!”

“I had been going to Sophie for assistance with my balance issues twice weekly for several months until she moved out of state.
I suffer from significant neuropathy and had significant cervical spine surgery a few years ago.
Sophie worked tirelessly with me in the studio and always gave me homework exercises. She is committed to helping people in a profound way. Sophie was always encouraging and happens to be one of the loveliest people you will ever meet. I can attest that she has helped me with my walking and balance concerns. I continue to do many of the drills on my own.”

-Michele d.

“I highly recommend Sophie. She has been my therapist for about three years. She is attentive to details, and offers specialized exercises to alleviate pain and discomfort. Her techniques are professional and stress reducing.”
